First day of the season

After having a long weekend in London, the aspect of fishing in the Upper reaches of the Eden on the opening day were too tempting.

On arriving at 9:30 at Mustgrave bridge, the wind was howling and only the bravest of fishermen were going to be fishing.

To cut along story short, the first fish was caught below Brough Beck as it enters the Eden on a green czech nymph (see below). I then met up and chatted with John Garner(KSDAA secretary) and Paul Procter (AAPGAI Trout Master) to debate tactics.

The Lack of Olives and March browns were not surprising given the weather. Snow melt and heavy wind did not making the casting easy.

A positive start to the season

As the winter freeze is gradually fading, the beginning of the season is not far away. Time to start tying some march browns for the opening day of the season on the Eden. Maybe to opening day will bring another 3lb brownie..................
